had about 14 of 15. and the obama folks were there, axelrod and cover, messina. they were not telling a good story. they were saying that this doesn't -- this is not definitive. basically it's theatrics. some of this and talking points you heard today. the question is, what it means long-term. clearly the president has set the bar, the expectation is pretty low for debate. lou: and one could be forgiven for thinking that it was, perhaps, i wrote a dope strategy. over a longer time than most people would have expected. but given that, the way in which the left has responded your, i mean, they have been vicious to their own, their leader. this is supposed to be the great one. and he is being treated today, i think by the left in many cases far worse than he has been treated by anyone on the right. >> you're right. ms in b.c., it was quite something to watch some of that coverage. and today congressman rangel said that the president just looked bored, like he did not want to be present. you have people out there saying that. it's obviously not helpful to the campaign. the president tried
couldn't tell. i knew what you were going to ask us. bomb, obama was looking down so much. whenever romney looked at obama he would square up with obama, obama was looking down and couldn't tell what he was wearing or what he looked like. melissa: what do you think. >> i think the same thing. the demeanor played a lot who looked better on debate. melissa: i wonder how do they decide who wears red, blue, red state, blue state. red is power. blue is calming? >> i never like that designation, democrats blue as republicans red. i think conspiracy by the left-wing media is red is angry color. look at me i'm wearing red right now. melissa: what color tie would you wear if you were in the debate? >> i don't know. melissa: yellow. >> demeanor you have that is important. one. need a free vacation? jetblue is offering supporters of the losing candidate in the legislation free flights out of the country. this is pretty funny. participants who register who they're voting for in november, are automatically entered to win a free flight to mexico, south america, or the caribbean islands. so you gu
says president obama much-needed good news on jobs. the chicago, jobs report gives obama a much-needed boost. i have to tell you, on wall street people are picking apart these numbers with a fine tooth comb. a lot of people don't believe them. they think they have been massaged, managed and some white. is the media -- more evidence totally for obama? >> sure. i read the new york times assessment of, you know, the attacks as the book were cut. this is not political, this is a statistical. always. the numbers are volta, but it is not politics. look. this is an administration that has been lying about who killed our ambassador. they have released classified information to help the president in the campaign, so the idea that they would cook the books in this is not so far-fetched. whether they did, i don't know, but the problem is they have no credibility. gerri: it's interesting because romney favorability ratings just about 50% for the first time. is the sustainable? >> i believe it is. his performance was one of the best, i think anybody has seen in a long time. there was not a s
obama to go all in, stop passing the plate, and tell voters how to get them over the hump in saving bucks, because as i see it, both campaigns have more cash than, well, whole countries. the issue's not whether you have enough of it, but what you do with it. the cash on hand is not -- if we learned anything from mitt romney last night is that a debate for which he didn't pay a penny is nothing short of the prices. cash might be king, but you can't be king if you don't get your butt before voters. your fat cat handlers will understand. they want you elected. just say you elect to stay away from them, as far as possible, until you are. charlie, what he makes of all of this because, think about it, more bang for the buck, that is governor romney on a free night with 60 million people potentially watching. >> right. it's ironic his big money people, reported on your show, i believe, last week, they were imploring him to get out more and do -- neil: stop talking to us. >> fundraise, get out there, get paul ryan out there. paul ryan denied it. i believe he was muzzled. i don't care. he sh
convenient for the obama administration. what do you say? >> stuart, stuart, i'm going to tell you something. one of-- let's get serious here. our status stigses in washington d.c., i'm not saying they can't play a little bit at the margins, but we've had a declining unemployment rate and a growing economy for almost three years now and if people don't believe the-- i think one of the reasons people have a problem believing the numbers, they bet so heavily on really bad economy, i think. stuart: brian, wait, wait. i know what you've been saying, i know what you've been saying. >> the unemployment rate to be below #-- >> the reason why the unemployment rate has come down is because god knows how many millions of people have dropped out of the work force and now, suddenly, oh, how conveniently, in the month of september, 873,000 of them come right back in and say, i got a job. what's with that? >> well, okay, there's two surveys, i mean, if you really want to get in the weeds. stuart: i do. >> the household survey where we knock on people's doors and ask them, are you working or are you not. i
that is a misapprehension on the public's part. >> my sources tell me that there are, i guess, capabilities in place for special operations teams, as well as drum strikes if the call is made. the other issue here is, in some ways, president obama is darned if he doesn't die but he doesn't. it would be seen as a political move in an election year a month away from the election if he was to take a strike based on intelligence. however, not acting could also have political consequences. it is a tough decision for the white house at this point summaries. >> that is a very talented both view, i think, part of analysts that would say that is a pro-american government. there is nothing refusing to allow fbi agents go there, but those aren't the acts of a friendly government, either that, or it was a delay on the part of a very timid government, namely our own to well, i'm still trying to find out the dynamics there. the one thing i can say is that the reaction in the aftermath of the assault was very different than what we saw in egypt. there were some arrests, although it does look like the people who wer
